Encounters With Light – NEW ALBUM

Heath Common has broken out from solitary and he now has a band. ‘Encounters With Light’ features an outstanding group of musicians (Tina Featherstone: sax, clarinet and flute | Steve J Jones: drums | Steve Karavasili: keyboards, accordion | Neil Morgan: guitars, bass | Patrick Wise: percussion, additional vocals).

The album details, amongst other things, Common’s reflections on the death of Jimi Hendrix, the legacy of John Lennon and even the exploits of notorious jail-breaker Ray ‘The Cat’ Jones.

Long championed, conversely, as a Beat poet and as a purveyor of a distinctive form of music, Common is a difficult act to nail. Some clues do lie however in these tales of a whole bunch of heroes – all of whom have significantly impacted on Heath
Common’s life and all of whom have somehow blessed this lucky lad with what he terms ‘Encounters With Light’.

Heath Common does not sound like anyone else in music. Heath Common sounds like Heath Common and that’s it. He’s fantastic!‘ Mick Middles (Fab Radio International DJ / legendary journalist and author)

Heath Common is utterly inspired and he comes to us as refreshingly original as once were Ivor Cutler, Syd Barrett, Lol Coxhill and their luminous ilk.‘ Nick Toczek (R2 magazine)

Heath Common is what Jack Kerouac would have sounded like if he came from Manchester‘ (Congleton Chronicle)

Heath Common is the northern Kevin Ayers‘ (Martin Whittle Salford City Radio)
